Good morning, fam. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Happy Thursday. It's Thursday. It's Thursday. I got to send out a message to the community. Give me a second. Give me a second. Give me a second. Let's see here. I got to send it out. Got to send out a text. If you're not on my text messages, get all my text messages. Send text message out. Good morning. Say hey. Sending out a text message right now. Uh all right. Sweet. It's going to be a good one. I'm excited about this one. So, uh, I just concluded, um, the first, um, I guess you could say the, uh, really kind of the first series of the job search.
Also, if you see my eye, I'm dealing with another stye. This is like the sixth one in a few weeks. Uh, my eye look is looking like someone punched me. Um, uh, nobody punched me. It's my eyeball just being an eyeball. So, uh, it's really funny. Not that y'all care, but I went to the eye doctor Tuesday, emergency eye doctor visit, and I was like the first thing the doc did when uh when I sat down, she goes, "Do you travel a lot?" And I was like, "Girl, do I travel a lot?" So, supposedly when you travel, which is really interesting because I posted I've been dealing with some sty and um and I know a few people posted on X and Devrell that they deal with it.
Um, it's because we travel a lot and supposedly when you're flying and traveling, your body's already fighting off just just being on the road. Um, and uh, I guess your eyeballs get affected. So, that's why my eyes look so bad. I'm on antibiotics. It's pretty heavy dose of antibiotics. Hopefully, I get this cleared before we head to Argentina. Um, we did uh just just a quick overview yesterday. Um, kind of want to uh not wearing your teenager outfit today. No, not wearing my teenager outfit. Thank you, Jeff. What Jeff is referring to is uh is I am uh I actually had the opportunity to speak at a private high school.
It's it's it's really the premier high school in Nashville, Hume Fog. It's a very old high school. I think I think the woman said it's like over 100 years old. Um so I had a chance to speak to high school students yesterday on kind of uh positioning themselves, kind of what's next. Um networking, interviewing, etc. And uh and I took a picture. It's on my Instagram and my wife I posted it to on X and uh my wife goes uh you you dress like them. Um and I was like yeah that's the whole point. So uh anyways it was great great great time. That's what Jeff's comment was about.
People like what was Jeff's comment about? Um so yesterday also too I I I'm going back to some yapping sessions. Um you know I I I really miss doing kind of just one-on-one on the interwebs with just this. Um and so I'm going back to this. Um, so every Thursday is going to be AI and YAP. Um, I am like fully AI pill right now. Um, I use AI for everything. Um, pretty much my entire day is chatting with Bana and then chatting with all of my bots. Um, and so, you know, I've helped my mom and dad uh get set up on some AI assistants.
Um, and uh, you know, I've I when I was down in Bentonville at our event, I was talking to, you know, the the the community who showed up and I was getting super deep on this stuff and they were like, I don't even know half the stuff you're talking about. I was like, well, maybe maybe I'm maybe I'm on to something. So, uh, so basically there's a loose outline like everything with that I do. I'm not super organized. Um, just I don't have the time. I should probably use AI bots to help me with that. But um what what what what I'm going to do is I'm going to start these series on Thursdays.
Um just solo. Uh I have a bunch of streams coming back up. We're definitely ramping up on the interviews. Um so I have a bunch of guests coming up. Um if you missed Mark Hinkle's episode yesterday, I think it was I thought it was really or Tuesday. I thought it was really good. Um but I also what what I wanted to do is is also give youall kind of a little state of the union as well. Um, you know, one of the things that I want to do more about is talking about like the community team and and and what we've done and and what we what we're building.
So, um, I kind of want to run through some stats with you. So, we we just did our internal all hands yesterday. Um, and I'm not going to go through the entire document. I'm going to pull it up just to reference it, but the document's like uh four or five pages long um with everything the team has shipped uh in the last uh 30 days, which is, you know, pretty pretty tremendous. Um so, I'm going to pull it up. I'm I'm trying to find it. Where is it? Um I'm trying to There it is. September all hands. So, I just kind of want to share with y'all like what we've done.
um because I think I Yeah, at Grock, summarize this. Yeah, absolutely. So, I'm going to go through just kind of some headline numbers. First off, um new all-time in-person record was set. Um when we went to Dallas, um we had 226 people RSVP. We had about 70 show up, but I think at the end of the day, I mean, I I look at registration numbers as just general overall interest. So, that was pretty cool. Um I ran our Luma data um through uh Instinct, actually. Um, so that's one of the things I'm going to talk about today is Instinct. Um, and uh, it's pretty cool.
So some of the stats for the community team that we've done. Nick, it's good to see you, buddy. Um, so virtual event registration is up 288%. Um, so so when we started, Alex, good to see you this morning. When we started this endeavor, this was this data is from October of last year to to now, right? So, it's not uh it would be even greater because we used to have nobody show up, but we were averaging per Luma averaging six and a half signups for our virtual events, which is fine. Um, but now we're at 25 25 people, which is, I think, pretty tremendous. Um, our in-person event size has gone up 312% in size.
Um, so to give you some sort of uh idea, our last five events have averaged 114 people um versus 27 people for the first five inerson events. So again, pretty tremendous. Um, everybody fill out the Luma reviews. Um, we look at that consistently. Um, uh, the collective rating of all of our events is 4.43 out of five, which is pretty tremendous. Um, that's that's at 300 responses. Um, and it's still climbing. Um, what was interesting is we saw is like once we started to scale up, Dom, good morning. It's good to see you. When we started to scale up our events, our virtual events, we we kind of got dinged for a lot of stuff, but we fixed it.
We've iterated and the ratings have gone back up. Um, pretty pretty wild stat here. This doesn't include all the emails, but in September, we sent um around 368,000 emails as a team and we're averaging a 44.9% open rate. That's insane. That's insane. Like absolutely insane. Um also another thing too, uh I respond to everyone. So one of one of the tactics we've done is we have made all the emails come from me ma mainly me. Um, some come from Bion and some come from Roxy, but mainly me. Um, and that has drastically helped our open rates and response rates. The problem is is my emails are buried.
Like I'm officially at the point in my career where my inbox is out of control. Um, also really cool as well, um, are, you know, we're we're averaging, so our newsletter subs are averaging. Yeah, that cough is crazy. Yeah, I'm I'm actually going to take a nap after this to be totally frank with y'all. I'm I I think I'm getting sick. Uh, which is great. right before Argentina. Um, and then also our uh our email newsletter is up to 92,000 folks. Um, which is pretty incredible. We average around uh 3,000 new emails, new new people to our newsletter every week. Um, and then uh what else?
What else is here? I'm just kind of going I'm not going to go through everything. Uh, shout out she ships. So Roxy has the highest rated uh event out of out of everything out of all the virtual stuff we do. So shout out her. She has a 4.82 which is crazy. Um so shout out Roxy. Again if you are tuning in Ricardo if you're tuning in right now I'm going over our community all hands that I presented in yesterday. I'm sharing just some high level notes with y'all. We're going to get into some some bots and and chats here. Um let's see here. Uh, see if there's anything else here.
Well, we're going to we're going to Argentina next week, so a lot of content going to be coming out of South America. It's going to be a lot of fun. Um, we did a huge overhaul with a lot of links on the the the landing page for Torc recently. Um, oh, final thing, final thing I want to highlight is we're doing, um, so if you have not seen it yet, we are really diving into perks and partnerships, I think, and and I'll wrap kind of the overview here. Um, uh, if you want to see the document, send me a DM. I'll share it with you.
Um, uh, you know, it's it's very high level information. I don't mind sharing it if you really are interested in seeing it. Um, but the final thing I want to talk about is perks and partnerships. So, we are getting, um, very big on per perks and partnerships. Um, this is something that I've wanted for a while, I think this is one of the things that really uh, aside of all the other things we do, I think I think perks and partnerships is is a thing that really makes community stand out. So, if you did not know this, we have a handful right now. So, if you go into the platform, go into community hub.
It's also in our Discord, too. But, if you're not a Discord fan, just create a profile uh, and then go into community hub. U,, but basically, we have a coffee sponsorship. So, my buddy um Caleb with Cat Coffee, I know I've plugged him a few times here. Um he gave the Torc community 15% off all coffee orders and it it it it's ongoing. It never ends. Um we also uh so I got uh $10,000 worth of tokens gifted by Skydive. Um which is actually a product uh me and Brianna use internally to run the community team because we're so lean. Um, and uh, so it's the first 100 people that use the code um, get a $100 in free credits.
Based off that, it should last you probably about a month depending on how hard you use it. Um, probably two weeks um, if you use it is if you use it really really hard. Um, but uh, so shout out um, uh, Skydive on that. Um, another one we got was Slashy. So I actually use Slashy for all my emails. Um, it's actually a it's an email uh service that actually like searches your email. It's amazing. Like one of the biggest issues I've always talked about if you follow me on social media is that it's crazy in the sea of AI that like there's no email provider that's really good at searching.
Well, Slashy is great at searching. Um, and so I use it um uh and uh you know um Harsha is the founder. Um I've actually was on them in beta, so I gave them a lot of feedback and tips. um uh your boy itself created about 1520 linear tickets just with suggestions I have. So they they hooked us up with a month free of slashy for the torc community. Again that's in community hub. And then finally um momentum conference in Cincinnati in October. I am speaking a shout out Michael Richardson. We got $30 off the ticket. Um so that's in community hub as well. I'm also actively a few other partnerships I'm trying to work on right now.
I'm going back and forth with Nater Dabbitt on X to get um uh some Devon credits for y'all to try. I'm also working with uh Dave Hicking who recently just did the career audit session with Roxy to work on some Laravel cloud credits. Um and then I also have a message out to somebody at Grock um to see if we can get some Grockbot credits. So um he hasn't responded back to me. So more to come there. Um, and then we are also actively working on uh discount tickets for all things open um or free tickets for all things open. So if you are interested in going to all things open, don't buy a ticket yet.
I'm working on um a hookup. So a lot of partnerships and perks coming. Um those are going to be held in community hub and in our discord. So a lot of things happening. So all right, that is the state of the union. I'm going to be doing more of this stuff. We have so much going on that I'm going to start kind of these these Thursday mornings. It's kind of like a review and then we'll dive into it. All right. So, AI assistants, chat bots, they're all over the place, right? Um, one of the guys that I follow on X, um, I'm going to pull him up now.
Uh, let's see here. I believe or maybe maybe it can just, uh, yeah. Okay. So, assistant benchmark. So, this is a crazy crazy uh, I forgot the guy's name. Um, he and I have gone back and forth a ton. If you are interested in starting with a um if you're interested in starting with an AI assistant, uh here here is the website that I would check out to get started. So, this is this is pretty substantial in my opinion. Um this guy is out here doing a lord's work and he is testing um all of these AI assistants. Um, I will tell you this. Uh, this this truly feels like AI like like like like to be totally honest with you.
Um, I think uh I think I think this is AI to me, right? So, uh there's obviously uh so he actually rates and reviews all of them. So, you can see here there's like multiple pages here, right? There's like 38 more that he's trying to get through here that he hasn't really gone into. So, these are the ones that he's touched. I will tell you this, I've I've messed around with Muse Instinct. I haven't messed around with season. Um, I've messed around with Pali. I actually have a call with one of the founders next week. I met with the founder from Ali. Um, I haven't tried Tommo.
Obviously, I've done Grockbot. I know the founder of Caddy, his name is Connor. Um, I've tried Poke, didn't love it. Um, so if you are looking to kind of get into this thing, assistantbenchmark.com is the website. I would I would check it out. So again, I'm going to try to I'm going to try to caveat this and and and and try to focus this for the job search stuff. Um uh you know, even when I spoke to the high school students yesterday, you know, I I brought up AI and I asked them like who in here has talked to AI? Who in here has done the voice feature?
Who in here has like asked it? What should I do in my career? And I think the thing is like all of these like streamers out here are kind of talking super technical. I want to talk like for the normies, right? And I and I think that's kind of my um in my opinion kind of my lane is kind of breaking this stuff down to the normies. So right now I am actively using Muse and Instinct. Um those are kind of my two drivers right now. If you need a Muse code, I have Muse code. I have a Muse code. Um so DM me if you are watching the stream.
I know I dropped in the ambassador chat um uh on Discord, but um uh I still have some Muse invites. Um so DM me if you want a Muse invite. Um I think I so I want to break this down. Uh so Instinct is my daily driver. Now I'm not going to get into security here. People have their thoughts on security. I get that. I understand that, right? I I'm not that technical. Um I am on the camp of of I'm going to give my AI everything. I'm going to give it access to everything because at the end of the day in my opinion I mean anybody can hack me if they want to.
Um and so for me uh I think um so I I am using um I am using uh instinct for my daily driver. So so here here is here's a few few ways uh I've used instinct. So, first off, um uh the first thing I've used Instinct for is uh I had it go through uh all of my payubs. Um uh that that's one of the things. So, um I've had in the past some HR issues, not HR issues, but like issues with some taxes in the past. And so, um I have instinct analyzed every single paycheck to make sure 401k is taken out, to make sure, um taxes are taken out.
Um, I don't know what happened when I was at Veco. Something happened in the back office and for an entire year, no taxes were taken out. So, that was a nice little surprise come tax season. So, I have instinct obviously analyzing all that. Um, another way I use Instinct and and this is this is how I think you should look at it from a job search perspective. So, um, uh, so I'm sure some of y'all have seen me post on um, people being laid off. Um, that's actually So, it's me. It's it's meish. Um, but I actually have instinct running searches on X and LinkedIn um, when people say that they're laid off and then it surface those to me and then I have to approve the message that I wrote.
Um, and then it posts for me. Um, and so, you know, one of the things that I am, you know, obviously trying to do is trying to help people, right? And so, you know, I I always invite people to the platform in the Discord. Um, so that's one of the ways I'm using Instinct. Also, another way I'm using Instinct, um, so, uh, is is I have Instinct hooked up to laid off layoffs. FYI or whatever, and it's monitoring companies being laid off. Um, and then what it does is it then goes into uh the database and then it searches people being laid off on X and LinkedIn.
So, right now, there's a company in town called HCA. They're doing some layoffs. Um, it found two people that were laid off for the HCA yesterday that I invited to the community. Um, and then also, uh, I it's it's searching some Oracle people as well. So, that's like two quick ways I'm using Instinct. Um, uh, I tried to use, so Instinct does Instinct is about to roll out native voice calling. Um, I had Instinct plug into kind of another AI voice calling. Supposedly, it did not do well. I had it call for my eye doctor appointment and when I called them back to schedule my eye doctor appointment, they said the AI assistant kept hanging up.
Um, so probably wasn't the best experience. Um, Muse does not have a way to make phone calls yet. I heard it's coming. Um, but I'm also interested to try season. Um, I think the biggest issue that I have right now is separating church and state, you could say. Um, I have Instinct doing a lot of things. I started instinct by using just kind of like my personal assistant. Now I have it doing some other things. So another thing I have so a lot of the post on my ex um uh blue sky and and and threads um from the data market is from instinct. So basically what it does is it pulls market data um and then um it emails it to me.
I approve everything. And so I think that's the thing like I'm not at the point yet where I just let it run everything. Um, so I still approve everything, but all of the uh the stats that go out um has has is is from Instinct, which I think is pretty cool. Um, another way I've used Instinct, which especially for all you Devril folks that travel or just anybody travels a lot, I have Instinct constantly checking on my flights um to see if anybody sits next to me. Um, which is really, really cool. Um, and then it moves me to another seat uh if somebody sits next to me.
So, I think like in my opinion, I think that's like the coolest thing uh that that I've used it for. Um I I I I want to talk about So, what I would do is if you want to use Amuse or an Instinct or Season or Pali, um Pali, I like Pali. One of the reasons why I like Pali is that you download some sort of driver to where it gives you kind of oversight into your iMes. Um, and and you know, again, if you want this, great. If not, totally fine. But I think I do a lot of my business in iMessage. And what Pali does is if you're on your Mac, um, it can have access to your iMes, right?
So, I have um I'm not paying for Pali right now. Um I'm going to see if I can't get a get a free pro um uh from the founder um when I speak to him next week. Has if you watch this, please. Um but uh I I was very impressed with Pali. Um I was very impressed with Pali. I just personally did not want to drop $200 um a month on that. And I and and I think in my opinion I think that's where Instinct and Muse really really uh really come into play right so Instinct is free right now. Um I have seen chatter that Instinct does not want to charge anybody any money that they just want to go completely VCbacked.
Um I think the latest stat I saw was that they're valued at a billion dollars already and it's just some kid in San Francisco. His name is Noah. So, the reason why I use Instinct a lot as my primary driver is because it's free. Um, Muse I'm starting to use more um because uh I So, another one I've used as well is Grockbot. So, uh with Grockbot um here, so I'm going to share with you uh what my Grockbot looks like. Now, I'm moving some task off Grockbot. And here's my issue with Grockbot. It's too expensive. Um, I burned through 50% of my weekly limit in just one day.
And I have also maxed out my weekly limit two days before my weekly reset has happened in the last two weeks. So, to me, it's just not sustainable for what I need. So, I'm going to share my screen real quick and just show you what I have going on uh just so you can get some ideas. Um, so right here, so you can kind of see everything right now. So this is this is this is everything. So um I what I wanted Grockbot to use is I wanted Grockbot to manage my YouTube Substack um and uh do some scheduling, but basically I had it really kind of drive my YouTube stuff and uh the burn rate was just way too high.
Um, and so, uh, kind of a few tips if I were you is is I would, um, so in the marketplace, there's actually like a there's actually an entire marketplace for bots here. So, from the Grockbot team, I mean, you can see all of this here. There's a sales coach, there's AI search visibility, there's talent discovery. Like, there's so much here that that you can use. So what I've done personally is I set up basically an entire content team. Um you know I move very fast. I don't want to wait on anybody. And so basically the the the issue the issue Yeah. Yeah. Sebastian. Yeah.
Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. I think my lane is like the most technical non-technical guy there is. So what I've done is I've set up an entire content team here. I think a few things uh a few lessons learned from using Grockbot. Um also by the way y'all I'm trying to launch a guidance counselor 2.0bot in the store. I'm downloading all 512 episodes I've done. And so then if you're ever on the job search uh and you need help, you can just ask guidance counselor 2.0bot. It's called Tabbot internally, but it's actually guidance counselor 2.0. Um could consider Sure thing. It seems cheaper. Is is is sure thing another what's what's sure sure thing?
I'm kind of curious about that. Um so kind of a few things I've learned from Grockbot. I think start really small. Um I also would implement a monitoring bot immediately. Um to be frank this this guy hasn't really helped enough but basically the the entire job um is the spend boss. So basically what it does is it goes through and tracks my spend and tells the other bots to hold off um if we're burning too much. So that's like the first thing. Another thing I like this is the improver. So what the improver does and you can go up here and look up here. It's the daily bot improver for Taylor's team.
Beat the other bots by continually improving them every day. I don't know why it says beat the other bots. That's weird. audit profiles, routine skills. So, like monitoring, improving are super important because I think one of the things is is Grabbot can get a little insane. U Michael, I like Taybot better. All right. Well, we may go back to Tay-Bot. So, once my transcripts are done, I'm going to be able to to to be able to hook this into it and then you can pull out episodes and stuff. Um, so another thing that I do as well, so I can't get into the Discord a lot.
So in full transparency, um, you know, I know Sebass, Michael, Jeff, uh, Roxy, you know, Nick, whenever somebody comes into, uh, the intro, um, uh, it it replies for me. Um, you know, I'm just going to be honest, I obviously see them right here. So, we've had uh eight people come into the uh Discord. Um so, in my opinion, the only bot that can seem to get into Discord is Grockbot. I've tried it with Instinct, it doesn't work. I've tried it with Muse, it doesn't work. Um to be frank, I'm going to be honest here, and I can't believe I'm saying this out loud. Uh, I we are not moving immediately from the Torc Discord to Slack, but I will tell you this, if the Torc Discord was on Slack, it would be so much easier to use uh my own bots to keep up with everything.
Now, the issue is you could look on the other side and be like, "Well, Taylor, if you do that, everybody else's bots are going to get in there and then the Torc community is just going to be a bunch of bots, and that's what I don't want." So, you know, the reality is is is Grockbot has been uh you know, kind of helping me. Jeff, hell no. Yeah, I wanted to float it out. I wanted to float it out. All right. Okay. All right. All right. So, yeah. So, so uh I have a Discord manager that that that keeps things up to date. Um you know, uh and obviously whenever there's a new guidance counselor 2.0, my Substack writer writes it for me, sends it to me in a Google doc to my email.
I edit it, send it back, and it sends it out. Um, I I've I've used the clipbot. Um, believe it or not, the clip bot is actually from um uh the guys at um Allin, uh Jason Calcanis, he actually launched a clip bot in in the store, so it actually clips your podcast for you. But again, what I have seen is anything with video is just it's just a lot. It's just a lot. So, um uh so yeah. So, that's kind of everything right now. So again, I I'm going to keep walking through this. Um, I just kind of wanted to give kind of a quick overview of how I'm using it and what you should think about.
Um, if you are looking for a job, here's what I would do. I would download Instinct Muse. Again, if you want a Muse code, let me know. Um, shoot me a DM. I'll send it to you. And I would set up watches. Ah, okay. Sure thing is another agentic code, very similar. Yeah. Yeah. There's so many of them out there, right? So, I would set up watches, right? Like, hey, I'm interested in these jobs. Search LinkedIn, search the internet, search Dice, search all of this, uh, every day and bubble up opportunities to me um, that seem to be a fit, right? Um, another thing what I would do is I would subscribe to talent platforms and, you know, like a torc and essentially have it monitor your matches for you, right?
One thing, one thing, one thing I've really realized, uh, Torquebot for all your Discord community needs. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Um, Jeff, maybe that's something we could talk about because basically what all these things are saying is that we I need to create a bot and and sync it into the bot. So, if you want to help me with that, would love that. Um, but uh, but yeah, so what I would do, I think flat out if you're looking to get into having a AI assistant, a I think you should. I think everybody should. My dad uses Instinct. I finally got my wife on it. I finally got Jackie on it.
That's a crazy thing. Um, and then I'm gonna get my mom on it. Another cool thing with Instinct, and this this this episode is not sponsored by Instinct by any means, but um, uh, with Instinct, um, and I may have some codes for Instinct, too. So, uh, let me know if you need a code, but another thing with Instinct they rolled out is your bots can talk to other bots in your family or friends, right? So, for example, me and my wife are going on a a beach trip with the kids. first family vacation in a while. I'm gonna be unplugged. Um, but basically my Instinct bot is talking to Jackie's Instinct bot with outstanding stuff and it's pinging me.
Um, because the reality is is my wife and I don't see each other during the day because she's with the kids and running around and I'm here. So, our bots are talking to each other um and then trying to get stuff done. So, really, really, really cool. So, anyways, all right. Um, all that being said, that's it for today. Um, Thursdays, AI and YAP, we're going to continue to do this. Um, if you have any use cases or want to come on the show, let me know. Um, you know, we can do like a 10-minute, 15-inute feature. Uh, but, uh, what what I'll do next week is, well, next week I'm going to be in Argentina.
So, the following week, we're going to get into kind of how to set some of this stuff up, some rules, um, and then continue to kind of try this stuff out. So, again, thanks for tuning in. Hopefully got something out of it. Hopefully, you learned something. If you need invites for Instinct or Muse, hit me up, send me DM. And otherwise, you all have a good one. Have a great Thursday. We'll see y'all in the Torc Discord. Peace.
