Hey, we are going to try to knock out two episodes in one day Wanted to go ahead and start on a topic that probably will take a few episodes Just because I'm so passionate about it and this is something that I really cover a lot in the tech conferences that I speak at and It's okay, so you get like over job. You write your resume. It's post the job boards Then what and the next step is to really work with the recruiter To find your next opportunity and the reason I'm really passionate about this Specific topic is because there are a good jazil gig. I don't know how many zeros that is there's there's there's so many recruiters out there and a lot of people When I say people a lot of individuals on the job hunt really never know Who to pick what to look for?

You know, and it's we're really just this black hole and so Really the bulk of what I want to get across in the bulk of what I want to teach is this it's how to work with recruiters It's what to look for what questions to ask And so what my goal is and this first episode is just to just kind of Really give some baseline information of what to look for and again. I want to preface this. This is all my two cents I'm only one person I'd never want what I say to be the end-all be all because again I'm only one piece of the puzzle and there's obviously many different ways to go about your job hunt So before we dive in again best way to reach me a lot of people have have asked It's it best way is is through email my working mail.

It's Taylor at veco.com That's V is in Victor ACO.com also all my social media Snapchat Instagram Twitter is T-decent and that's T is in David ESS EYN so let's go ahead and dive in first first things first The question I get is what do I look for in a recruiter that I want to work with? The profile that I would say to look for is Gonna be a recruiter who's one been in the local market that you're living currently For at least a year if not to I can tell you I've only been recruiting the national market for three three and a half years And I'm still learning new clients.

I still don't know the market 100% and I've been doing it for three and a half years so again Just to use that as as some sort of guide. I would definitely look for a recruiter that's been in the in the area that you're in for at least a year The the next thing I would look for is a recruiter that has not bounced around From company to company now if you look at my LinkedIn. I have moved around within VACO But the reason why is that has been due to obviously moving up and being positioned to do what I am doing now and that's recruiting software developers day and day out so most of the time recruiters Usually what I've seen on LinkedIn bounce bounce around and leave jobs about a year and ten months two years that that gives that gives them the salary bump and Allows them to recruit for a little bit and then they move on to to greener fields or greener pastures whatever that saying is so I will look for somebody who's been with the same company For an extended amount of time.

I would say over two years I would say if you can get a recruiter who's been with the same company for three four five years and has been in the same City as you're in for one or two years. I would say that's somebody that that's at least work checking out and again, this is high-level information. I'm definitely going to dive into this more but I definitely want to break this up into very listenable manageable amounts because it's a lot of information so again this episode my main goal is just to break down high-level What's a look for in a recruiter and that's someone who's been in the specific city that you live in for a certain amount of time or extended To be extended amount of time and also that recruiter needs to have been at the same company For extended amount of time as well and he has not job hopped again That's it for today.

Any questions or concerns feel free to email me and look forward to diving into this top A little bit more. Thanks
