again start watching stranger things again nice I love it it's such a good show it's such a good show yeah I'm looking forward to when the final season comes out in the next I think next year some point Oh I thought it was this November is it not no I think it's next year I think got pushed Maybe I'm Wrong I've been wrong before I'm gonna have to watch this again I have to watch this again uh anyways good morning happy hump day we made it happy hump day still don't know why they went away with camel who was that Geico Progressive um I don't

remember so Geo sounds like a Geico commercial I think it's a Geico thing anyways no no no it's probably Progressive because Geico has a little gecko you know that's right so I guess it was Progressive if anybody who's tuning in right now can remember what hump day was what who the company was you earn a priz oh it was Geico I just looked it up yeah was it Geico never mind Dan ruined your prize so yeah um all right so uh want to kind of run run down a few things first off uh if you're tuned in welcome say hey we love to hear from

you this a networking platform where did I tell people I've been doing this thing for four years now that um if you have shown up every week said hey commented engaged with the people who've commented shot Dan a message to say hey Dan it was great to see you on guidance counsel 2.0 today we love to stay in touch and you did this consistantly for four years you would have a hell of a network and so basically that's that that's what this thing is is I want this to be a networking platform for you so please say hey there we're not in the metaverse yet

we don't have our Apple Vision Pro goggles on um so we don't know if you're here unless you say hey uh and you may lose out on a job opportunity because there have been two people I know four or fact that have found jobs indirect or like directly because of the networking on this show which is really really cool um so please say hey we love to hear from you I want to go through kind of a few Updates this morning uh first and foremost uh I launched uh the tech dad's group um dad's in Tech uh even if you're not a dad and you

want to be a dad we still love to have you but uh we we hosted this uh last week had 55 dads show up it was awesome um and uh so we're planning our next one for the beginning of October uh I would share it with your friends it was very meaningful um I know Aaron uh was on there um but uh definitely and and and Trey and Trey I believe um so we love would love to see you guys there um it's a heck of a time we're goingon to be launching our we are choosing Discord so Aaron and Trey we are we are

choosing Discord um and so um basically launching that it's gonna be great it's gonna be great Community I'm still trying to figure out the name dad's in Tech may not somebody said Control Alt dad and I think that's my favorite so far um let's see yeah let's see here also if you want to know oh I like that Tech zaddies that's what it should be uh Tech 61523 35565 text live uh to to uh I I basically send a text out every time I go live who I'm going live with what we're talking about so if you don't want to miss it shoot me a

text we love that also have the friend zone um me and Kelly vau who Dan knows very well we started like a little private it's not really private anybody can join but it's a great little Community um we're doing resume uh and Linkedin reviews this Thursday so you should go sign up take a look at that and I believe that's it um and uh let's see here yeah Super Rat a must for dads in our space 100% all right so Dan let's give the people what they want uh man who are you uh what do you do and we'll go from there yeah no man

it's it's always good to to be on on this side of things uh my name is Dan Thompson I work for Veo have for the last 11 years uh down here in beautiful Tampa Florida uh my job is to lead all things that we do related to staff augmentation and placements um I focus a lot on exec utive Search here in the Tampa area and then we also focus a lot on pure Consulting so whether that's digital transformation Cloud migrations uh data warehousing uh data analytics um all things Tech really we try to take a a focus on and stab on uh here in the

greater Tampa Market it's been awesome to be in Tampa for the last 11 years it's been really cool to see the growth of what this city could be and what it is becoming so man it's been it's been a really fun journey and then obviously along the way made some great friends like you 100% is that a stadium in Gale Polo on right now it's not this is the uh old rustic uh UF logo from the 70s I believe I like that I like f State of Florida is a gator uh yeah I also uh just more about me I'm big into golfing um big

into boating uh really any Florida activity is something that I thrive in a native Floridian I do host a Florida Gator podcast so if you are interested that is called stadium and Gale and I'm also a Wine Drinker big wine guy guy I already know that that's right yes so good Dan you know I golf recently we just did nine but if you extrapolate it out I would have broken a 100 that's incredible man great job you know I always tell people getting from 100 to 90 is relatively easy uh getting from 90 to 85 takes some work and then getting from 85 to 80

is just I mean you're talking hockey just like those five yeah yeah yeah I mean basically my goal focus on your putting and your short game yeah basically my goal for golf is just if I can go out with some buddies I I'm not slowing them down that's that was my goal right is to say hey what can I do to make sure that I'm averaging like a bogey around which is like a 90 or a bogy a hole which is like a 90 right if I can throw par in there at birdie every once in a while I'm not slowing everything down and then

the problem is is once you get there you're like oh if I would have just gotten three Strokes better I would have been at like an 87 and then you're like well i f I can get two strokes better I'll be an 85 and then if I would have made this putt and made that putt I would have been an 82 become AIC golfer man I'm not that far away from being on the PGA tour you know exactly that's typically how that works yes exactly all right let's get into the swing of things here um man what's going on in the market right I think

I think with me especially kind of towards the end at gun um I wasn't quite in the weeds um from a job search perspective um you know not saying where I'm at now but you know I'm probably going to be even further away from I guess the traditional recruiting it's kind of a weird change for me because I've always prided myself in kind of being in the thick of it but now I can bring on Experts like yourself to talk about so where we at right now yeah you know it's I I tell people all the time I feel like Tech's been in this like

Purgatory for two years where things aren't all bad and things aren't all great right there's there's still companies that are hiring I think we're through kind of the layoff part of the economic cycle that we are in and and I'll be honest with you I don't even know if a lot of those layoffs were truly because of actual need from a business operations perspective as much as it was from like a publicly traded company like showing that we're doing stuff or like it's easy to put a layoff in when like a bunch of other companies are doing the layoff yeah I think it was just

a cool thing I think do it so and Dan's been here for 11 years and he sucks so he might as well just do it yeah exactly right like you know at the end of the day you know what's what's funny for for me to look at is like the number of people that get laid off and then get hire rehired right back as contractors it's like what are we doing here right because yeah um but you know anyway long story short I think the market right now is in like a little bit of a Purgatory right and I think who feels the the most

close to the hell part of purgatory compared to the heaven part of purgatory is like in software development and I think a lot of companies have really scaled back research in development I think a lot there was a lot of over hiring I think that there was a lot of you know and this is what the market was I think that there was a lot of overpaying and a huge investment in software development for really a a a cataclysmic amount for like two years but probably for like the eight years leading up to that too there was just massive growth in software engineering so I

think we've seen a massive tampering in software velopment now I say all that to say I talked to a lot of software development directors and VPS and managers and there's still a lot of work that needs to get done just the investment in that the dollars aren't being flowed to that department now I do think that there's going to be a switch here in the not too distant future maybe the next three to eight months or so where you start to see more in software development because that work still has to get done and new R&D still has to get done and enhancements and improvements

and new iterations still have to happen so companies are feeling the pain too right so that's what I tell people like it's it's been tough to get hired right now but all of the companies are also feeling the pain of not having people in those roles as well um but the one thing that I am going to put out there and on this podcast on unicorn finders we we did some no Shamus you know years right we called a lot of this right uh I do think when the economy starts to tick better uh when we kind of know the outcome of what some of

the decisions of federal reserve is going to make once we get through the election I think that there are massive dominoes waiting to fall of people that are in roles that they're unhappy with they're waiting to leave and I just think that you're gonna have a huge domino effect that might be somewhat similar to The Great resignation fro m from two or three years ago yeah I I agree as well I think I mean I'm sure you know people like this too I think there's a lot of people who have rolls night now that are very unhappy right but they can't go anywhere because there's

not a lot of jobs right now and so I'm wondering now let me ask you this and I I'm not getting into politics here I'm just thinking high level economics right don't want this whole entire chat to burn down this morning but basically What's It Gonna I mean again hot take Central here right what's it going to take yeah Trey 202 is is is is this the redeemed team year right like what what is going to get us back there is it interest rates is it yeah I don't know I don't know I think I think it's a lot of things right and I think

that there's so inflation numbers came out they're at the lowest year-over year rate in three years it just came out this morning so that's positive news right you want to see that uh the Federal Reserve acting will allow more money to be available uh on the market to be able to be borrowed right and and we are driven very very heavily by a private Equity Venture Capital uh managed and consolidated debt space and then financing right a lot of business growth is driven that way so when those interest rates go down the access to money is more available or the ability to get money is

easier for companies and then hopefully there's more money available to make that R&D um you know make those R&D opportunities more available in the company for for growth and development so could it be uh it I think there's a a lot of macro um challenges on the market right now right like there some potential Wars out there there's decisions that have to be made so do I think that 2025 will be a bounceback here I think it could be I think any year coming into an election year you just don't really know and especially up until six weeks ago you really didn't know who was

going to be president now we kind of know who the two options are y ou can businesses can make decisions based on that decision and then you know come January 20th my birthday not a big deal then are you Ser I realiz yeah to kind of drive forward right so I think it could be right and I think with the Federal Reserve loosening some of the interest rates that's going to allow businesses to borrow more and then spend more and there's been a lot of things that have been put on the back burner for the last two years that still have to happen right and

they've been kind of working with like a skeleton crew to make them happen and you're managers and your directors and your VPS and your cios and CTO are feeling that pain so when that money comes back in I I think that there's going to be a huge infus back into technology because there's got to be that advancement to to continue to move forward do you think think I think the rip that happened in the market was relatively overnight relatively right do you think a rip is like that GNA I think it's going to be gradual like I don't think like like like based off where

we're at like I think it's be one of these things where're like we're gonna be six month you know ahead and we're gonna look in the rears and be like oh now we're ripping type of situation I just don't see it no I don't I agree um I think that there's going to be some kind of domino and cascading effects right because like what we called the last two years has kind of been like a a middle class an upper middle class recession right you had a lot of managers and director and team leads and highlevel professionals get laid off um you know as companies

start to add some of those people back into the market you're gonna see a domino effect there right and those dominoes affect everybody right because you know you have a new manager director role that opens so a manager leaves that manager maybe takes somebody or two people with them to their new role and so now all of a sudden these these positions start um you know opening up for pe ople so I think you're going to see a little bit of a rip that way uh but interest rates are still quite a bit higher than they were a couple years ago when we were really

ripping so I don't think even if the FED lowers by 25 or 50 basis points that all of a sudden there's all this free market that's entering the world or all this free money that's entering the market but I do think you're going to see some more private Equity uh in 2025 I think you're going to see a lot more investment into 2025 uh and those opportunities usually yield much more opportunities for Tech uh firms right if you look at PE deals over the last two years they've been dra ically down from where they were you know the the five years before that right and

so what I'm seeing in the market and talking to my friends that are in the legal space they're starting to see more on the acquisition and transaction side of things so to me that's an impetus of what like we might seen more of in 2025 but I'll be honest with you I think for the sake of the market it would make sense and would be better if it's gradual rather than all of a sudden there's all this money in place and everybody's bouncing around all these new jobs and it's just this cha chaotic sit which is what it was is what it was that's what

we don't want no yeah exactly exactly Chris good to see you this morning um Christina absolutely then of course TAA and Roberts great to see y'all this morning got the crew out um so Dan so that was great I me you're you know I definitely don't want to be an all-in podcast or a group chat podcast and talk high level macroeconomics what does that mean for the people on this chat right now for a mark recardo Robert tea Chris who maybe looking for a job next maybe looking for a job right now what would you tell them based off what you're seeing from a tactical

perspective from a hiring side of things yeah so I think hiring for really the last couple of years well at least really the last years I've seen a big move into the data space I think a lot of companies are really trying to figure out right and this has been a 12 year thing right I got into this business 12 years ago when like Hadoop was like really starting to become popular right and so this idea of like big data right and so like it's like I mean you and I've been recruiting the the entire time of like the hotness of the Web 2.0 side

of things right yeah but like how many companies do you know Taylor and you've been doing this a long time you've talked to a lot of different companies and a lot of different you know individuals like how many of these companies truly know what they're doing with their data so I think that's what they're still trying to figure out right and I've got numerous customers that are saying hey we've stored all this data now we're paying Azure or AWS or Google or storing on our own machine or you know our own um you know at our own you know server Farm if you will all

this data and they're trying to figure out what to do with that and so I think that that's big I think cyber security is still going to become you know something that that's still top of Mind of every company uh in America so I think that you're going to still see growth there uh I think you're going to see a lot more growth in the software development space next year and then like with that and I don't know what those individuals do that you named but like when software development starts to higher again like with that it's going to be more project managers more Bas

more product folks uh because those Industries have really kind of collapsed on themselves right they really have they really uiux has kind of collapsed on itself product design has kind of collapsed on itself like all of that stuff needs to still happen and all of that is kind of interconnected with the lack of investment in Dev recently so that's where I see like 2025 going I don't know how much in 2024 is like sad as I am to say this like how much we see right like even if in the next fed meeting they lower basis points it's not like of a sudden there's like

billions of dollars that go invest in the economy later that day right so I think it's going to be slow and I think it's still going to be gradual and like we're still two months away from the election so I still think it's going to be a time of kind of relative like quiet however we're past the summer now we're in Q3 at the end of Q3 for most companies or Q4 for some some you know we'll start q1 in a you know a couple weeks here that's usually when we start to see some more hiring because there's budgets in in the are there's money

in their budgets for positions and they need to get them in place before the end of the year so I think that Q4 and we're starting to see it a little bit is going to start to tick a little bit hotter uh than it was in maybe q1 Q2 Q3 of this year uh but then I really see 2025 being a not necessarily A breakout year but but definitely a significantly better uh year for for Tech as a whole contract versus perm thoughts right now just man I'll be honest with you um normally in times like this contract kind of rips and Roars because they're

like oh I don't have the head count um you know and I can take this out of my capex budget and we can you know get a couple things done we've seen across v as a whole perm really taking off in a lot of markets but we've also seen a collapse in certain markets so in Tampa perm is really exploded this year a lot of companies say hey we know we need somebody let's get and find that right person there's a lot of Talent on the market right now so why risk potentially losing them if it's just a contract or hey our purse strings are

tightened and it is and can be significantly more expensive to have a contractor in place but that I'm talking about just the Tampa Market if you look at B the whole it's it's been very intermittent based on on Market so but I still think that there's a lot of opportunities out t here I do think there's going to continue to be more of a push to onsite or some sort of hybrid on-site model I think the days of remote are going to continue to dwindle and there was a an issue with a really large cyber security firm here called No before a couple weeks ago

here in Tampa where they hired a remote employee and that remote employee actually lived in North Korea and they immediately installed spyware on their laptop right so like I think things like that coming out are going to continue to push some companies away from being fully remote uh but I think your hybrid is here to stay and I think more and more companies are going to continue to move towards that hybrid model rather than this massive just remote Workforce as much as they can you know it's so interesting because when I was at the tail end of gun um you know and really throughout my

entire time recruiting roles it was perm to which I thought was weird because traditionally based off our experiences at Veo typically in a down Market you don't have big um con you don't have big budgets for direct hire usually the direct line managers are given a little bit more autonomy with contract budgets so they kind of piece me stuff together I I mean I don't know I don't think you have the answer I'm just kind of curious why perm has been hot with this you know I think it's because a lot of companies haven't been a I think a lot of companies learned their lesson

in 2007 2008 2009 that time frame and I don't think most companies are really really reeling right now right I think a lot of companies are doing fine think a lot of companies are still growing I think consumer spending is still high I think consumer confidence is still high I still think that there's a you know a lot of investment that companies are making in themselves I think a lot of them are just being very conservative on the way that they spend money until they know more right I mean I've had companies that have grown at 10 12 13 15% over t he last couple

of years but their headcount has only grown one or two% because they just don't know if a recession's coming or what's next and we've never really lived in a time where interest rates were Rising the way that they were um inflation was Rising the way that it was but that the number of unemployed people was as low as it was right so there's all of these different economic metrics that are kind of butting heads against each other that don't really seem to make a lot of sense so I think a lot of companies just took a very conservative approach and I think that they're still

taking a conservative approach until we have some better data right like we wanted to see the inflation rate come down we probably need to see the interest rates come down a little bit more problem is once you lower interest rates will that potentially drive up inflation again we don't know and there's a lot of things that is just going to be a little bit of trial and error until we have a better idea of like what the next four years look like from a decisionmaking and it's not just the president it's the House of Representatives and the Senate as well like what the next four

years look like I think then businesses are going to start to make decisions BAS off that Trey brings up a great question Dan you'll have an advice on this when the ball gets rolling again how can we be stand how can we stand out amongst the crowd a good piece of advice I receivers build products not projects build X to solve y and cherry on top has Z many users love that yeah um I I think standing out is um I I think the best thing that you can do obviously I know this this podcast talks a lot about networking and and trying to really

know understand that the people that you're going to potentially want to work with the companies that you're going to want to work with so take all of Taylor's advice and let's just push that off to the side like that's going to be primary I think from a resume perspective where a lot of people mess up is that they don't do a really good job of explaining what the problem that they are trying to solve is and how their product solves that problem right not every product is going to be a billion dollar company not every product is going to have you know a hundred million

users I think what we you know when we look at resumés and when hiring managers look at resumés it's what was the problem how did you fix it what was the way that you went about building and trying to fix that problem and how did you do it and I just don't think a lot of people do a good enough job on their resume explaining how they did it and what they used to solve that problem and then ultimately what the resolution to that problem might have been right did you streamline a process were you able to build an app that you know that 10,000

people used um you know using whatever technology you might have used and then how ultimately did you go about building that product right um I think for me it's it's all about the details I think it's all about um I think again I guess just going back to details kind of flubbing over my words here going back to the details of what you built how you built and then ultimately what did you do to try to solve I think beyond that is making sure you quantify what you've been able to do what you've been able to be involved in on your team and I think

most importantly is know your resume that when you do have an interview and when somebody's asking you questions about things you know answers um we and Tech tend to just throw a bunch of tech jargon on a resume just to fill up a lot of Blank Space focus on what you know focus on what you can talk about yes and focus ultimately on things that you were involved in to be able to help that organization nobody expects you to have a 100% of your resume or 100% of the job description on your resume but if all of a sudden you have 100% of what's on

your or in the job description on your resume I'm gonna st art asking you very random things that don't really make sense on your resume to see what your actual experience and exposure is to that and if all of a sudden you're like oh I just sat in on a demo or oh I like kind of toyed around with on my computer for an hour like that's not true experience and you're just going to kind of catch your inter interviewer offu guard and and potentially leave a bad impression in doing so yeah 100% I love that I love that um let's see here yeah yeah

keyw word is impact 100% um Dan what are you seeing people in the interview right now as as as we kind of wrap up here next like five five seven minutes um again youve just been spitting some straight fire today which you always do um where are people messing up in the interview process or yeah let's talk that first yeah I think you know I just kind of hit on it is a lack of preparation on the company know the company you're interviewing know what what industry they're in know what some of their products are what problems are they trying to solve right just have

a general understanding of the business you don't have to be a subject matter expert but you know take a look at their LinkedIn take a look at their website take a look at their crunch base whatever it might be learn about the company understand who you're interviewing with understand their background what was their experience or what were their experiences ultimately LED them there do you have anything in common that you can use to to break the ice during that interview um know your resume if somebody's going to ask you a question about your resume know where in your resume you talked about that if you

say that you have experience implementing jir at an organization try to remember where you implemented jir in your organization rather than kind of flubbing around your resume and that's where I think it's so so important on your resume to make sure that a you wrote it right like even if you use chat GPT or some of these other tool s that are out there like understand where things are on your resume and understand the bullet points that you have in there two is be able to quantify yeah yeah because I feel like you like get this interview and you're like wow I don't know where

where it is yeah you're like uh uh where where did I put that right and like it's it's interviews are stressful enough right interviews they're awkward a lot of times they're over video it's with somebody that is maybe doing other things right and glasses and you can see like the colors you know changing and they're like you're not even like paying attention right so like they're already awkward like so what you can do to diminish more awkwardness is just understand who you are what you bring to the table and ultimately what this piece of paper that you're giving them are right I tell people there's

two things that you have total control over everything that you do it's one is your social media and two is your resume right like you have absolute control over what you put on both so be knowledgeable of what you put on your resume know where you've listed things be able to quantify things and side of the business that you've been able to do understand the problems that the business is trying to solve and try to relate those to things that you've done in your experience as well um you know but those are those are probably the biggest areas um show up prepared check if it's

going to be a teams meeting or a zoom that your microphone is working that your airpods are charged or that they work you know log in a couple minutes early even if you log out just to make sure that everything is worked make sure your cameras working make sure that you limit the distractions behind you um if you're going to interview in a coffee shop like turn on the feature that like Focus or that that blocks out like the noise right be try to be in a quiet space if you have to do it like make sure that you limit what potential distractions could be

for the person interviewing you um at the end of the day people want to hire a person that they enjoy working with obviously they need to have the experience and the technical expertise to do it but people want to hire people so show yourself show who you are and be the person on the interview that you're going to be in the office because that's who you're gonna work with each and every day and if you get rejected I post this the other day on LinkedIn I think hot take I think it it's a blessing if you get rejected because you are more yourself than not

yeah yeah I mean because you're gonna quit right at some point like you're you're not going to be happy they're not going to be happy it's just not going to not going to work out right and you know Trey mentioned to turn the interview into a conversation every interview is a two-way conversation you're interviewing them right are you gonna wake up every morning pretty excited about going into work every day are you gonna wake up knowing the problems that you're going to try to solve are things that you're interested in is the tech that you're working on things that are going to get you excited

is the team around you that you're going to meet people that you think you can work with on a day-to-day basis if they're not and I know that not everybody's at Liberty to say no to a job right and I totally get that but if you're at liberty to say no then find out what matters to you in a job right it's not just the pay it's not just the benefits yes I know that gets everybody through life but are you going to be excited about going to this job a year from now two years from now three years from now are the team members

that I'm going to sit around people that I feel like I can have a good genuine technical convers ation with is this somebody that I can sit down at lunch and we can whiteboard some things together without me feeling like their voice or Nails on the chalkboard right those are all things that you have to find and ask yourself but you have to ask yourself first what am I looking for in a job right sometimes it's like oh I want remote because I want the flexibility a lot of people can thrive in that environment but are you willing to sit at home at the same

place that you live for an additional 40 hours a week by yourself and know that you're going to stay focused on the work that you're doing or is that going to drive you crazy that would drive me crazy I have to go to the office three days a week just because that's what keeps my like hunger and drrive for work right like I don't have to look be like oh you know what that laundry's got to get done or I didn't want to do dishes last night so I'm just GNA get those done real quick and you know it's like kind of like studying in

college it's like I can't study in a dirty space right so gotta clean off my table got a dust oh that picture frames a little out of whack hours I like that picture frame anymore let me hop on Amazon to get a new picture so but find what you're looking for find the environment that you want turn it into a conversation try to understand why the position is open what they're trying to solve and ultimately where is the business going and growing to like what is the reason that they need an additional software developer on their team right or why do they need an additional

security person on their team did they get hit by some ransomware and all of a sudden the CEO now has a watchful eye on what's Happening that could be a stressful environment are you okay with that kind of stressful environment that comes with 100% 100% well Dan thank you my friend this was great I want to end on a few kind of Rapid Fire questions real fast that I ask every guest this is a new one that I recently created what did you want to be when you grew grow grew up growed up in elementary school and do and do you think you'd be good

at it now yeah so I want to be a lawyer um everything that I did in high school and college was to prepar e myself for that I could see that got into law school um then had a pivot um didn't end up going to law school uh had a pivot uh thoughts my we were just coming out of the 2009 recession and uh a lot of people went back to law school and they were like I don't know what's going to happen with the legal profession right are all these people going to graduate with $200,000 in loans to get $15 jobs so uh I

took a year I took a job uh that job required a ton of travel I got to see the country I didn't get to travel a lot growing up and then during that time I you know didn't think you know law and I touched a lot of my friends that were in law school I'm like man this probably isn't something that I think that I would enjoy um I think that I would enjoy aspects of it I interned at a law firm for two summers when I was in college uh the work was menial and tedious and not as fun as it looked on TV

so I don't know if I would have enjoyed it uh but I enjoyed talking to people I enjoyed debating I enjoyed trying to hear and understand both sides of an argument so I think there's aspects of it but no I think I would have I think I would have been over it pretty quickly well you're great at what you do and I think there's a lot of aspects in what you do that is is a little lawyer ass so I think that's where I really um anything uh so I always ask a Content recommendation anything you've watched or read recently that you like yes there

is a book uh called I just want to make sure that I I get the title right it's called the no rule pardon my language okay it's a great book about uh company culture uh we just read it as a part of a book club for the office so I just finished that last night uh so that's a a great book uh to read I encourage everybody to read it whether you're a manager or whether you're just looking to be a good person on a team I love that um last question if you could go back in time give Dan Thompson a piece of advice

career advice what would it be on what you can control in life and in work and make sure that you're making time for yourself your friends uh and and ultimately your your health uh you only get one body and I allowed myself to kind of get carried away with working long hours and getting stressed out and there's there's a lot of times that I I just didn't focus on that right it was eating a quick meal or going to you know*aumerous happy hours a week and all of a sudden it starts to drain on you a little bit so whatever it is take a step

away from the computer take a quick walk uh go to the gym if you can try to eat you know a little bit better your body's going to feel a little bit better but those are all things that I wish I would have told myself you know 10 years ago uh because now I'm dealing with the repercussions and fighting through those you know I love it I love it I love it well Dan love you man uh this was a great conversation if people uh want to find you where's where's the best Place how can people reach you to ask you some questions yeah you

can find me on LinkedIn uh it's very easy uh it's linkedin.com and it's just Daniel K Thompson is the uh is the URL to find me I'm on Twitter I talk a lot about sports and the Gators uh that's at DK Thompson there uh but just find me on LinkedIn would love to connect I I appreciate the opportunity to come on as always and always a huge fan of of Taylor desk and everything that you put out absolutely well thank you my friend have a good one y'all have a good one we are tomorrow do I have somebody tomorrow yes tomorrow I my dear friend

Reggie Ford he's a motivational speaker um has a crazy kind of story um he's here in Nashville I've met him he was a connection through James Quick it just he used to play football at Vanderbilt under James Franklin um and uh just just a hell of a dude so Reggie Reggie Ford on the show tomorrow gonna be more inspirational not really job search stuff kind of Life stuff and then we are off Friday so y'all have a good Dan sta y on C say bye to you backstage we'll see you all more peace right like even if in the next fed meeting they lower basis

points it's not like of a sudden there's like billions of dollars that go invest in the economy later that day right so I think it's going to be slow and I think it's still going to be gradual and like we're still two months away from the election so I still think it's going to be a time of kind of relative like quiet however we're past the summer now we're in Q3 at the end of Q3 for most companies or Q4 for some some you know we'll start q1 in a you know a couple weeks here that's usually when we start to see some more hiring

because there's budgets in in the are there's money in their budgets for positions and they need to get them in place before the end of the year so I think that Q4 and we're starting to see it a little bit is going to start to tick a little bit hotter uh than it was in maybe q1 Q2 Q3 of this year uh but then I really see 2025 being a not necessarily A breakout year but but definitely a significantly better uh year for for Tech as a whole contract versus perm thoughts right now just man I'll be honest with you um normally in times like

this contract kind of rips and Roars because they're like oh I don't have the head count um you know and I can take this out of my capex budget and we can you know get a couple things done we've seen across v as a whole perm really taking off in a lot of markets but we've also seen a collapse in certain markets so in Tampa perm is really exploded this year a lot of companies say hey we know we need somebody let's get and find that right person there's a lot of Talent on the market right now so why risk potentially losing them if it's

just a contract or hey our purse strings are tightened and it is and can be significantly more expensive to have a contractor in place but that I'm talking about just the Tampa Market if you look at B the whole it's it's been very intermittent based ton on Market so but I still think that there's a lot of opportunities out t
